This auction is for a 1953 or 1954 Gretsch 6182-3 Hollowbody Guitar. Serial #12715. It was also called the "Corvette" at the time. That name became associated with another Gretsch model in later years. The tailpiece has been replaced with a "VIB-ROLA" tremolo. All the other hardware, pickup and knobs are original. It has the original DeArmond neck pickup. Item Details: Several small marks in finish through out the guitar. Nothing major for a guitar of this age. There is one larger scuff on top of the guitar just to left of the pickup. It is visible in the photos. The hardware all works great. The pickup is fine and also sounds great. The neck is strait and the guitar plays very well. The case is good shape for being an old chipboard style case. No evidence of past damage or repairs. It's just a cool old guitar.Shipping costs include proper insurance.
