Driving bass rhythms, guitar-style chord patterns and syncopated melodic lines are fused into a pulsating mixture full of energy in Playing Latin Piano. Gabriel Bock has developed an astonishing method for solo piano performa nce, which he has tried out with great success with his students. In arrang ements for piano solo, the chord patterns that are typically found in an authentic guitar accompaniment are written in such a way that they can be played at the same time as the bass and melodic lines. This means that a singl e player is able to include all the rhythmic elements which are otherwise p layed on the various instruments in a group. An accompanying CD has a folder containing MIDI files of all the exercises played live.
